Very Adult Coloring Book Launch Vol. 2 Home & Garden

Coloring books are no longer just for kids, in fact, Rachel LaBarre’s Very Adult Coloring Book is made specifically for adults. Adult coloring has become a national phenomenon over the past year. The meditative nature of coloring has been proven to promote mindfulness while relieving stress. Rachel takes the adult coloring craze to a new level with her original Very Adult Coloring Books, capturing unique individuals in sensual moments accompanied by quirky captions.

1805 GALLERY is thrilled to host the launch of the Very Adult Coloring Book Vol. 2 Home & Garden, focusing on adults doing chores in the nude, and more artistic interpretations of some of the most mundane moments around the house.

Join us on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 6:30pm to 10:00pm for a night of coloring, music, cocktails, and light fare.   The event will be held at the Porto Vista Hotel located at 1835 Columbia Street, San Diego, CA 92101. Supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring preferred mediums.

A limited number of tickets are available for purchase here.

Ticket price: $25

(includes the Very Adult Coloring Book Vol. 1 or Vol. 2 and one drink ticket )

Rachel LaBarre

Rachel, an expert designer and teacher of all things creative, explores patterns through drawing, printmaking, painting, and installations.  For the first time, Rachel combines the soft curves of nude figures with the hard edge contour lines of diverse patterns.

Rachel’s interest in producing drawings for others to color and complete is inspired by the medium’s ability to motivate a sense of play and collaborative process.

“When I get to see individuals' finished works and see their choices for colors and textures, I am reminded of how beautifully varied we all are in our interpretations of things.  - Rachel LaBarre

Emerging artist definition: artist who are emerging with new, fresh ideas. This is not about the age of the artists or the exposure they have had, but what art they are creating now and in the past three to five years. We think of these artists as emerging from the darkness into the light of the public view.
