In collaboration with Porto Vista Hotel, 1805 Gallery is pleased to present an art program that features local and international artists throughout the hotel. The art program provides an elevated hotel experience as guests encounter unique works of art in unexpected places.

Lobby & Main Elevator

Conveyor is an elevator art exhibition series that showcases art installations annually. The installation will coincide with an exhibition of artworks in the hotel lobby.

Featured Artist: Daniel Barron Corrales

Corrales intuitively responds to the unique nature of environments. He creates interactive sculptures and installations with mass-produced textiles and construction supplies to heighten the experience of commonplaces.

Featured Artist: Lauren Siry

The Icarus series is a collection of watercolor and ink paintings that reference the Greek myth of Icarus, a mythological wax-winged figure that flew too close to the sun. Siry’s falling figures examine the struggle to maintain balance in life, while embracing failure as a crucial component to success.

1805 Gallery presents Art Above, a rooftop contemporary art exhibition featuring original works of art, installations and performances by emerging and mid-career artists.  Art Above is an exhibition series that takes place on the 6,000 sq ft rooftop of the Porto Vista Hotel in Little Italy, San Diego.  The event is an opportunity for artists to exhibit their work to a larger audience and for an audience to experience original works while enjoying the unique views of the San Diego harbor and Little Italy neighborhood.

Porto Vista Hotel’s restaurant the Glass Door offers a full cocktail bar for guests to enjoy drinks throughout the evening while they navigate through the artist booths.
