ART @ PORTO VISTA HOTEL
In collaboration with the Porto Vista Hotel, 1805 Gallery is thrilled to present an art program that showcases contemporary artists throughout the hotel, creatively activating unusual and unlikely spaces. In 2018 the hotel launched Conveyor, an annual exhibition series that transforms the hotel’s elevators into exhibition sites. While the elevator project changes annually the lobby hosts quarterly exhibitions, receptions and installations that are free and open to hotel guests and the public. The program aims to energize the hotels liminal spaces of waiting with artistic interventions that transform an uncomfortable space of transition into a site of discourse and creative engagement that is typically absent in an elevator, a lobby, or an exterior walkway.
