The Porto Vista Hotel Arts Program is pleased to announce an open call for Vend Arts an art exhibition space inside the hotel vending machine. In anticipation of the 50th-anniversary of Earth Day this April 2020, the Porto Vista Hotel invites artists to submit work that investigates climate change. Earth day was originally founded in 1970 to support environmental reform in the United States and today it is celebrated in over 190 countries. The vending machine exhibition aims to celebrate Earth Day by highlighting the importance of this phenomenon that threatens to transform our global landscape.
Vend Arts
Rotating exhibitions present affordable artworks 24 hours a day 7 days a week and introduce emerging artists to a larger public audience. Vend Arts aims to democratize art distribution and reinvigorate encounters with contemporary art. Vend Arts is curated by 1805 Gallery Director Lauren Siry. Porto Vista Hotel Porto Vista Hotel is a boutique hotel in San Diego, California that showcases contemporary local and international artists throughout the hotel, creatively activating unusual and unlikely spaces.

Vend Arts Guidelines:
Artists will be provided with clear plastic boxes for each artwork. Box dimensions are 4 1/8" x 6 1/8” x 5/8” ( W x L x D ) Maximum size: 4 x 6 x 5/8 inches ( W x L x D )
Retail price between $10.00- $60.00
All artwork must be priced the same amount
All media is welcome and encouraged, including sketches, drawings, paintings, photography, video art (USB), sound pieces (USB), limited edition prints and photographs, poems, etc.
