Art Above SD Exhibiting Artist : Sean Brannan

SEAN BRANNAN

Eighteen o Five is pleased to announce Sean Brannan as an exhibiting artist at Art Above San Diego Spring 2014.

Originally from New England, Southern California artist Sean Brannan comes from a family of artists and academics. It is this closeness that fostered an early critical appreciation for the arts. As a youth Sean traveled extensively, living in South East Asia, and throughout the United States. His contact with diverse cultures left an indelible impression on him. Exposure to the richness of these different cultures and their use of art as a visual language has informed his own art throughout his career. In the early 90’s Sean went to work as an illustrator & designer. As a designer he honed a highly developed sense of color and composition, which led to his path back to painting. In his current work making collages with an imported photo fabric paper as his medium he uses color theory, repetition, and illusory space to create nonrepresentational abstractions that breathe and vibrate. His award winning art continues to evolve as he explores the psychological effects of interacting color, geometry and perception.

Sean holds a B.A. in art & design, from Plymouth State University, NH, and a M.A. in counseling psychology, from National University. CA.

Sean will be exhibiting works from his photo fabric collage series at Art Above San Diego on Saturday March 15, from 2-8pm on the rooftop of the Porto Vista Hotel.

The Porto Vista Hotel is located on 1835 Columbia Street in Little Italy of San Diego.
