1805 Gallery is pleased to announce Ry Beloin as the new artist in residence. Beloin’s residency project, “We see you, we’re listening” will be in progress from Saturday, October 7 to Saturday, December 23, 2017. While in residence, Beloin will engage individuals from San Diego’s local community through a process of portrait sculpture that incorporates dialogue as an essential component. The intimate interactions will form a series of busts that shape a collective portrait of a community.

Beloin is well known for her hauntingly beautiful oil paintings, charcoal drawings, and surreal clay sculptures. She holds a BFA in Drawing & Painting from Laguna College of Art & Design, a dually accredited college also endorsed by the Art Renewal Center. Beloin's art career includes writing about art, curating, and a studio practice with emphasis on both invented and observed imagery and sculptural forms.
